It was Christmas's Eve in 2012 when I saw snow for the second time in my life, but it seems as if it were the first one. It felt so good to walk in the snow and cold, but it was pretty nice. I remember how I laid on the snow and tried to make an angel. I remember how I was taking pictures when, suddenly, I saw small snowflakes all over. My hair was turning into white while I ice-skated on a frozen lake.

Sometimes I remember how I was walking back home and there were many snowdrifts from which I took some snowballs to throw them to someone. Or how you could see a whole path full of grass and snow at the same time.

Every winter I wish I was there and could feel the snow again. It must be amazing the first day of snow; to go out in your boots and feel the snow and its sound while you walk. I am really looking forward to coming back to this white land.

☁ Era nochebuena del 2012 cuando vi la nieve por segunda vez en mi vida, pero parecía como si fuera la primera. Sentaba muy bien andar en la nieve y el frío, pero estaba muy bien. Recuerdo cómo me tumbé en la nieve e intenté hacer un ángel. Recuerdo cómo estaba haciendo fotos cuando, de repente, vi pequeños copos de nieve por todas partes. Me pelo se estaba volviendo blanco mientras patinaba en un lago congelado.

☁ A veces recuerdo cómo iba de vuelta a casa y había muchísimos montones de nieve acumulada de donde cogía bolas de nieve y se las lanzaba a 'alguien'.  O cómo podías ver todo un camino lleno de hierba y nieve a la vez.

☁ Cada invierno desearía estar allí y poder sentir la nieve otra vez. Debe ser increíble el primer día de nieve, salir con tus botas y  sentir la nieve y su sonido mientras caminas. Estoy deseando volver a esta tierra blanca.

It is incredibly surprising for me how I follow hundreds of blogs and people from Sweden in Instagram and I never stop being surprised by their photos of the typical buildings there. Architecture and Art are things that I've always been interested in, but I never thought I would be interested in the point of being hooked on every building from there. These views make me want to be there and to get back to study some Architecture, but it amazes me a lot that, at least in my school, we haven't seen much about Scandinavian architecture. It is obvious that it is really beautiful! I think that if I had studied Scandinavian architecture, I would have been even more interested.

I just keep imaging me living there, just wandering around the city, seeing every building, discovering every corner of it, and being incredibly happy. I think people would think I am crazy if they saw me like that there. They remind me of medieval buildings and at the same time those from a wonderland, but they are even more beautiful when you see them as a whole, the whole city from a distance.

☁ Es realmente sorprendente como sigo cientos de blogs y personas de Suecia en Instagram y nunca dejo de estar sorprendida por sus fotos de los típicos edificios de allí. La arquitectura y el arte son cosas que siempre me han interesado, pero nunca pensé que me interesarían hasta el punto de estar enganchada a cada edificio de allí. Me entenderéis cuando veáis estos colores y como combinan entre ellos.

☁ Estas vistas hacen que quiera estar allí y que vuelva a estudiar algo de arquitectura, pero me sorprende muchísimo que, al menos en mi escuela, no hemos visto mucho sobre arquitectura escandinava. ¡Es obvio que es preciosa! Creo que si hubiera estudiado arquitectura escandinava, hubiese estado incluso más interesada.

☁ Simplemente sigo imaginándome viviendo allí, deambulando en la ciudad, viendo cada edificio, descubriendo cada rincón de ella, y siendo increíblemente feliz. Creo que la gente pensaría que estoy loca si me viesen así por allí. Me recuerdan a edificios medievales y a la vez a los de un paraíso, pero son incluso más bonitos cuando los ves como un todo, la ciudad por completo desde la distancia.

Something that I find really interesting and exciting is to pick one day of the calendar, taking your car and visiting places of a country with no reason and no rush. Looking at Marta Vargas' pictures I came up with this topic. Wouldn't you like to wake up one day and escape from your life, taking your car to drive infinitely and visit new places? I think that would be amazing!

 I would definitely do it in Sweden. Apart from its beautiful landscapes, it is a country where you can see a car kilometres away from yours, unlike Spain, where all cars are together in the same spot. I think that taking a car to do this there may be really relaxing and inspiring.

Just looking at that beautiful landscape, with those red houses and those trees makes you want to go there and get lost. You do not even care about the grey sky, you just think it is perfect and you want it like that. Since the very first day I saw Sweden, I realised that this is the place where I belong and where I would make all my dreams and wishes come true.

Algo que encuentro realmente interesante y emocionante escoger un día del calendario, coger tu coche e ir visitando lugares de un país sin ningún motivo ni prisa. Mirando las fotos de Marta Vargas,  se me ocurrió este tema. ¿No os gustaría despertaos un día  y escapar de vuestra vida, cogiendo vuestro coche para conducir infinitamente para visitar nuevos lugares? ¡Creo que sería increíble!

Definitivamente lo haría en Suecia. Aparte de sus preciosos paisajes, es un país donde puedes ver un coche a kilómetros del tuyo, a diferencia de España, donde todos los coches están juntos en el mismo sitio. Creo que coger un coche para hacer esto allí puede ser realmente relajante e inspirador. 

Solo con mirar a este precioso paisaje, con esas casas rojas y esos árboles, quieres ir allí y perderte. Ni siquiera te importa el cielo gris, solo piensas que es perfecto y lo quieres así. Desde el primer día que vi Suecia, me di cuenta de que este es el lugar al que pertenezco y donde haría que todos mis sueños y deseos se hiciesen realidad.

If someone could move into any place just by thinking about it, I think I would be living in Sweden for three years now. It is just so beautiful! No matter what type of place you are thinking of, there, everything looks and is beautiful. Streets or lakes, a city or the countryside. Don't you think so?

I think I would live in the countryside. Besides, I've always had this dream of having a house close to a lake, isolated, where I could paint and draw in the silence of its peacefulness. One of the best things of this is that you can get a boat and go anywhere, discovering new spots. It sounds very idyllic and it must be!

Si alguien pudiese mudarse a cualquier lugar tan solo con pensar en él, creo que llevaría viviendo ya en Suecia tres años. ¡Es tan bonita! No importa en que clase de lugar estés pensando, allí todo se ve y es precioso. Las calles o los lagos, la ciudad o el campo. ¿No creéis? 

Creo que viviría en el campo. Además, siempre he tenido este sueño de tener una casa cerca de un lago, aislada, donde pudiese pintar o dibujar en el silencio de su tranquilidad. Una de las mejores cosas de esto es que puedes coger un bote e ir a cualquier lugar, descubriendo nuevos sitios. ¡ Suena muy idílico y debe serlo!

Ojalá pudiese cumplir mi sueño pronto. Mientras tanto, seguiré soñando y escribiendo aquí. ¿Qué hay de vosotros? ¿Dónde y cómo sería vuestra casa en Suecia?

Vamos a empezar, ¿no? Aquí tenéis algunas razones por las que me encanta Suecia y otros pueden hacerlo también.

☁  Porque tienes la oportunidad de ir a dar una vuelta y encontrarte el océano casi congelado, y  algunos rayos de sol reflejados en la parte del océano que no está congelada. Tienes la oportunidad de encontrarte este precioso paisaje y admirar la belleza de la Naturaleza.

☁  Porque los bosques son preciosos en Suecia. Puede que un día quieras ir al bosque, un día soleado a mediodía y...¡ahí está! un atardecer a punto de empezar.

☁  Por la combinación de colores que puedes encontrarte en un único lugar. Primavera e invierno al mismo tiempo. Suecia es preciosa en cualquier estación del año.

Creo que todos tenemos un lugar especial del que queremos saber todo, al que queremos huir en cada día libre que tenemos, y que soñamos con él cada día, teniendo la esperanza de volver algún día. Pensando en que algunas personas puedan compartir el mismo lugar que yo, he decidido crear este blog y enseñaros mi sitio especial: Suecia.

Hace poco más de un año, pasé mis vacaciones de Navidad en un sitio cerca de Kungsbacka, al sur oeste de Suecia. Antes de ir, me pasaba todo el tiempo buscando información o fotos para saber algo más de allí y tener una idea de lo que iba a encontrarme. Pero mi sorpresa fue que nada de lo que había visto en fotos se parecía a lo que veía desde el avión conforme nos acercábamos al aeropuerto de Gotemburgo. Todo era distinto, y a la vez precioso. Cuando bajé del avión, quedé totalmente enamorada del pequeño y rojizo aeropuerto de Gotemburgo. Llamadme loca, pero en cuanto vi el cielo nublado, los pequeños restos de nieve, las casitas rojas con sus luces de Navidad, me enamoré, y supe que ese sería mi lugar especial y el que he estado buscando.

Desde que tengo uso de razón, creo yo, siempre he tenido un sueño de unas vacaciones perfectas, y estas eran en un lugar aislado y lleno de nieve, en una casita de madera y al calor de una chimenea. Cuando llegué a Suecia, volví a recordarlo y me di cuenta que, probablemente, estaba destinada a llegar allí y descubrir Suecia; y, que algún día, podré hacer este pequeño sueño realidad. Ahora tengo otro sueño, junto con este, y es el de vivir en Suecia. Sé que algún día lo conseguiré y no me importa cuanto tarde, pero lo haré.

Cuando volví a casa, empecé a estudiar sueco. Bueno, para ser exacta empecé el verano antes, pero después del viaje empecé a estudiar con más motivación e intensidad. También, empecé a buscar blogs sobre personas que comparten este mismo lugar que yo. Y es a través de ellos, de sus fotos, como voy a mostraros el encanto de este sitio y lo que nos enamora de él.

I think we all have a special place we want to know everything about, to which we want to run away in every day-off we have,  and we dream about it every day, hoping to return one day. I thought that some people may share the same place with me,  so I decided to create this blog and show you my special spot: Sweden.

About a year ago, I spent my Christmas holidays in a place near Kungsbacka, in the south-west of Sweden.  Before going there,  I spent all the time searching information or photos to know a little bit about that place, and to have some idea of what I was going to find when I get there. But, my surprise was that nothing of what I saw in the photos was similar to what I was seeing from the plane as it got closer to the airport of Gothenburg. Everything was different and beautiful at the same time. When I got off the plane, I fell totally in love with the small and reddish airport of Gothenburg. Call me crazy, but as soon as I saw the cloudy sky, the small remains of snow, the little red houses with its Christmas lights, I fell in love, and I knew that that would be my special place and the one I've been looking for.

As long as I can remember,  I think, I've always had a dream of a perfect holiday, and these were in an isolated place and full of snow, in a small wooden house, by the warmth of a chimney. When I arrived in Sweden, I remembered it and I realized that, probably, I was meant to arrive there and to discover Sweden, and, one day, I will be able to make this little dream come true. I have another dream now, together with this one, and it is living in Sweden.  I know that one day I will achieve it, and I don't mind how long it will take me, but I will.

When I came back home, I started to study Swedish. Well, to be accurate I started the previous summer, but, after the trip, I did it with more intensity and motivation. I also began to look for blogs of people who share this same place. It is through them, through their pictures, how I will show you the charm of this place and what makes us fall in love with it.
